About The Original Hip-Hop Chef?
Distinctive and versatile. Two words that easily describe Chef Tye Atkins, The one and only Original Hip-Hop Chef. His unique dishes and substantial credentials speak for themselves. As a youth, he learned to cook from his Grandmother and received culinary training under executive chef Jonah Brandon. The rest, as they say, is history.
Dedicated to the Hip-Hop culture and the elements of Hip-Hop, Chef Tye educated himself on the history with pioneer and icon Chief Rocker Busy Bee.
Even before cooking went mainstream and the advent of the celebrity Chefs, chef Tye had a vision - a unique concept to merge Hip-Hop and food, and today he brings both to the table. He created the brand Hip-Hop Chef® and used cooking as a platform to break into the industry and become a Celebrity Chef. His big break came from Industry heavyweights Def Jam Records and BET Networks, and he continues to prepare his Hip-Hop flavor for Hip-Hop and R & B Stars, Athletes, and other celebrities and organizations. You can always find Chef Tye giving back, as he is a staunch supporter of charitable organizations, homeless shelters and those less fortunate.
