- 1 cup grits
- 1pound. shrimp (cleaned and un-shelled)
- ¾ cup mild or cheddar cheese, shredded (optional)
- 3 cup water
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoon un-salted butter
In medium pot, bring to medium high heat water. Stir in grits, heavy cream, salt, pepper and butter. When grits begin to thicken, reduce to low heat. Stir in cheese if desire. In a medium bowl mix together old bay, garlic, olive oil, onion powder and parsley flakes. Add shrimp to mixture and coat well. Add shrimp to a medium heat skillet. Pan fry for 5 minutes or until done. Serve grits in center of plate with shrimp around side.
